Charlotte Henrich – a 400m specialist – will have two very special cheerleaders supporting her every step of the way when she races at the Commonwealth Games - her grandparents.
“It will mean the world to see their granddaughter representing Wales,”
said Charlotte.
The 19-year-old was born in France, and her first language is French - but her mother was born and raised in Carmarthen.
It all started in secondary school after her PE teacher urged her to join a club. In 2025, she won gold at the European Under 20 Championships in Finland. Three years earlier, she was also victorious at the European Under 18 Championships.
She was the silver medallist at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago in 2023 and helped the women’s 4 x 400m team power to bronze at the World Under 20 Championships in 2024.
