1907
First full amateur Welsh Track and Field Championships held in Newport.
The first ever Welsh amateur track championships was held in 1873 as part of an open sports meeting. It incorprated only 2 events; the 100 yards won by Charles Thomas (Reading AC) and the mile won by Hugh Fairlamb (Roath).
