11/09/2020 00:00, In Blog / Cross Country / Track & Field /
We are pleased to now be able to release updated Return to Track & Field Competition [v3] along with version 1 of our Return to Cross Country Competition guidance documents.
- Both documents will be circulated directly with our Competition Providers and we hope that they will enable them to start planning further for safe competition to be delivered.
"Within the Cross Country Competition guidance is a provisional timeline for this discipline to hopefully return to some form of restricted action – we acknowledge that Cross Country competition will look very different this winter, but Welsh Athletics are working hard behind the scenes to ensure that a safe offering can be delivered within Welsh Government restrictions."
Rhiannon Linnington Payne, Head of Competitions
The provisional timeline is as follows:
- 5th October – License applications will be accepted for Cross Country events
- w/c 26th October – Licensed restricted Cross Country competition may begin
*These dates are subject to any Welsh Government or Local Authority legislation and may be altered if deemed necessary
Effective immediately, our updated Track & Field Guidance now permits for sprints events to be run in every other lane as a result of both successful pilot events and the compliance by athletes with other measures that have been in place at events.
