Carmarthen Harrier Wynne Oliver (1940-2025) died on 31 December 2025.
Wynne was a pupil at Llanelli Grammar School, and while at school, he was chosen to compete for Wales in the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff. He ran in the 220 yards and finished 5th in his heat. Earlier that year, he had beaten the great Ron Jones in a 100 yards race in Treorchy. In 1959, he won the Welsh schools senior boys 100 yards championship in 10.6 seconds.
He was a faithful Carmarthen Harrier member and excelled at rugby.

Funeral on Saturday 17 January 2026 at St Gwynog’s Church Llangennech, Llanelli at 1.00pm (Public Service).
