Welsh team take on Italian mountains

Vanoni Mountain Race, Italy
In the individual female 5km race, Anna Bracegirdle ran well to finish 11th overall in a time of 24:14:06. The race was won by Italian based African, Lucy Wambul Murigi in a very good time of 22:04.
In the fiercely contested Trofeo Vanoni relay race, Wales were led off by MacGregor Cox on the first leg, MacGregor handed over to Gavin Roberts in 16th position with a time of 32:54:12. Gavin maintained the teams position of 16th as he handed over to Tom Woods with his leg time of 34:00:73. Tom ran an impressive final leg in a time of 31:31:23 to move the Welsh team into 12th position overall with an overall time of 1:38:26:08. France were the overall victors once again with a combined time of 1:30:02:44.
Overall a very competitive European Mountain Running International event run in ideal, dry conditions which was well supported by the local community.Arwel Lewis
