Welsh Athletics to Partner with Sportsshoes.com to deliver Home Nations 5k this August

Welsh Athletics is delighted to collaborate with Sportsshoes.com to deliver the Sportsshoes Home Nations 5k, supported by Nike, on Saturday 30 August 2025.
This will be the fourth edition of the race but will incorporate the UK 5km Championships for the first time.
The event hosts five seeded 5k races on a fast three lap circuit of the picturesque Bute Park and Arboretum near Cardiff City Centre and sees the Home Countries compete against some of the top composite teams.
Course records for the event sit at 13:39 (Tom Mortimer) and 15:29 (Calli Thackery). The 2024 edition hosted international winners with Baldvin Magnussen of Iceland claiming the men’s title and Georgie Grgec of New Zealand winning the women’s A race.
Welsh Athletics’ Endurance Competitions Manager, Alex Donald, said;
We are always very grateful to be able to bring some of the top UK based athletes here to face our top Welsh Athletes.
This is now one of the very top 5km races in the country and we are delighted that the 2025 edition will host the UK 5k Championships.
