Start Fitness Gwent Cross Country League, Chepstow – Feb 8
Saturday saw the fourth fixture of the Gwent Cross Country League take place in Chepstow.
U17M Lloyd Sheppard took his 4th victory in the series keeping his place at the top of the individual table whilst Adam Bull stays atop of the senior men’s individual table with his victory on Saturday.
U17W Hannah Jenkins took her 3rd Victory to maintain her 6 point lead at the top of the individual table and Alaw Beynon-Thomas has kept her lead in the senior women’s individual table with her victory.
Welsh club, Cardiff AC are also showing a strong performance in the league by leading the U13G, U15B, U17W and both U20 competitions.
PSD Bank Indoor Meeting, Dortmund, GER – Feb 9
Melissa Courtney-Bryant ran a strong season opener at the PSD Bank Indoor Meeting in Dortmund last weekend, running 8:49.78 in the 3,000m.
Speaking about her race, she said, “I’m really happy with the win, I haven’t raced in 5 months so today was about feeling good and confident racing. I’m delighted to finish so strong and it shows how well my last training camp went. My next indoor race will be the 3,000m at the British Champs.”
Llanelli Half Marathon & Marathon, Llanelli – Feb 9
Due to adverse weather conditions, the Llanelli Marathon & Half Marathon was postponed. The race has been rescheduled for Sunday 8th March 2020.
