British Athletics Indoor Championships - Birmingham - Saturday & Sunday 9th & 10th February

Wales' top track and field athletes produced some stunning performances to take the British Athletics Indoor Championships by storm over the weekend, with a total of six medals being won, and eleven new lifetime bests recorded.

Barcelona Half Marathon - Sunday 10th February

Wales' endurance athletes produced strong performances at the Barcelone Half Marathon on Sunday morning. The standout performance again came from Cardiff's Charlotte Arter (Chris Jones) who stormed to a new Welsh Record and lifetime best performance of 1:09:40 to go eigth on the UK All-Time lists over the distance. There was also a new lifetime best for Cardiff's Clara Evans who clocked 1:12:49, with Jenny Nesbitt (Chris Jones; Worcester) close behind in 1:13:14 and a new lifetime best for Sian Edwards (Swansea Harriers) who finished in a time of 1:16:24. 

Josh Griffiths (Swansea Harriers) was the first Welshman home as he clocked a new lifetime best of 1:04:54, with Andrew Davies (Steve Vernon; Stockport) just behind, also with a new lifetime best of 1:04:47. Eryri's Rob Samuel (Andy Walling) finished strongly in 1:07:11, and just behind him was Pontypridd Roadent Paul Graham with a new lifetime best of 1:07:18. 

Gwent Cross Country League - Ponytpool - Saturday 9th February

James Hunt (Cardiff Athletics) and Charlotte Taylor-Green (Bristol & West) took senior individual victories in the fourth Gwent League fixture of the season at Pontypool Park on Saturday.

Llanelli Half Marathon - Sunday 10th February 

Cardiff's Matt Clowes and Swansea's Caryl Jones took victory at the Llanelli Half Marathon on Sunday morning. Clowes ran out dominant winner of the Men's race in a time of 1:06:44 ahead of second placedLuke Williams (San Domenico; 1:12:00) and Ben Butler-Madden(Penarth & Dinas; 1:13:31). Jones was equally dominant in the Women's race, coming home for victory in 1:17:05 ahead of Cardiff's Lucy Marland (1:20:22) and Megan McBrien (Royal Sutton Coldfield; 1:22:29).

Nick Beer 10k - Llandudno - Sunday 10th February 

Gwyn Owen (Eryri Harriers) and Catherine Connell (Eryri Harriers) were victorious at the Nick Beer 10k in Llandudno on Sunday. Owen won the Men's race in 34:40 ahead of Stephen Skates (Prestatyn RC; 34:49) and Michael Corrales (Dark Peak Fell Runners; 35:50), whilst Connell took victory in 39:15 in the Women's race ahead of Alannah Birtwistle (Macclesfield; 41:55) and Andrea Rowlands (Eryri Harriers; 42:30).

Iowa State Classic - Ames, Iowa - Friday 8th February

Matthew Harding (Colwyn Bay / Virginia Tech) finished 5th in the Men's 800m at the Iowa State Classic with a season's best of 1:49:78, whilst Michael Ward (Cardiff Athletics / Bradley Uni) clocked 7:57:22 to finish 6th in the Men's 3,000m.
