Halle Throws International, Germany - June 1
Pembrokeshire's James Tomlinson (Paul Jensen) produced a huge half-metre personal best representing Great Britain in Germany on Saturday. The 19-year-old continued his spectacular start to the season as he threw 60.24m to finish second in the under-20s competition at the prestigious Halle Throws International. Tomlinson surpassed his previous best of 59.75m, which brought him victory at the International Throwing Meeting in Portugal in April. His latest success comes just a fortnight after claiming a victory in the GB under-20 vest at the Loughborough International.
Cardiff's Sarah Omoregie (Gareth Lease), who achieved the European Under-20 qualifying standard with a PB of 15.37m at the Loughborough International, was also part of the GB under-20 team in Halle. And once again she set a new PB out in Germany as she threw 15.45m as she finished third.
Memorial Leon Buyle, Oordegem, Belgium - June 1
Swansea Harrier Joe Brier (Matt Elias) claimed his second 400m PB in a week as he finished second to Frenchman Jeffrey Lami in a time of 47.12 at the Leon Buyle Memorial event in Oordegem. The Belgian venue is becoming a favourite for Brier having set his previous PB of 47.30 there last weekend. Fellow Swansea Harrier Caryl Granville (Darrell Maynard) ran her fastest 100 hurdles time in two years as she clocked 13.65 to finish third at the same meeting.
Challenge meet, Valence, France
Continuing her good form from the indoor season, Welsh Indoor Champion Laura Turley (Ian Broadhurst) ran a 400m PB of 54.66 in her first ever overseas competition.
BMC PB Classic, Milton Keynes - June 1
Newport's Remi Adebiyi (Darryn McAtee) ran a big 1500m PB as he sliced almost four seconds off his previous best time to finish second in a time of 3:54.46 in Milton Keynes on Saturday.
Abersoch 10K - June 1
Eryri Harrier Russell Bentley won the Abersoch 10K, crossing the line in 33:07. Second was Oliver Blake, OOTRI, in 34:14 and third was Jamie Lambie, of Shrewsbury AC. Winner of the women's race was Kate Green, of Bournville Harriers, in 43:27, ahead of Eryri Harrier Elliw Haf in 42:51, and Caryl Davies, of Sarn Helen, in 43:09.
Llyn Brenig 9.5 Mile Trail Run, Llyn Brenig - June 2
Prestatyn Running Club's Joshua Cerefice won the Llyn Brenig 9.5 Mile Trail Run in a time of 58:29 on Sunday. Daniel Brazier, of Abergele Harriers, was second in 59:27 with Jason Thomas, of Cybi Striders third in 1:02.11. The women's race was won by Lauren Morley, of Shrewsbury AC, who finished in a time of 1:05.18, ahead of Helen Davies, of Wrexham Tri in 1:07.10 and Anna Begbie, of Warrington Running Club in 1:07.53.
Anglesey Trail Half Marathon and 10KM
Jonathan Kettle won the Anglesey Trail Half Marathon in a time of 1:24.07, ahead of Neil Rothwell, of Ramsbottom Running Club in 1:26.45 and Owen Humphreys, who finished in 2:26.48. The women's race was won by South Cheshire Harrier Louise Gordon in 1:41.46, ahead of Briony Evans in 1:41.58 and Emma Heath, of South Cheshire Harriers, in 1:42.02.
The men's 10K race was won by Troy Kettle in 47:42, ahead of Nick Pendleton in 49:03 and Tom Bromley in 49:12. The first woman home was Ellie Dominey, of Axe Valley Runners, who also crossed the line second overall in 48:45. Second female was Mari Lois, of Betsi Runaways, in 54:03 ahead of Jude Hughes, in 55:33.
Rother Valley and Llynllechowain parkruns - June 1
World Athletics Championship marathon qualifier Dewi Griffiths (Kevin Evans) celebrated his first visit to the Llynllechowain parkrun in Carmarthenshire by clocking the sixth fastest parkrun in the United Kingdom on Saturday with a time of 15:28. Griffiths' Swansea Harriers teammate Jonathan Tobin (Kevin Tobin) went even faster by clocking 15:13 at Rother Valley - the joint fourth fastest time of the weekend across the country.
