West Wales Indoor Athletics Championships Day 1, 13 January

On Saturday the first of the West Wales Indoor Athletics Championships took place in Swansea University Indoor Athletics Track, which saw over 150 athletes from junior age groups through to senior compete.

Loughborough Indoor Open, 13 & 14 January

Tom Walley (Wrexham AAC) got his indoor season underway in the men’s pole vault, clearing a height of 4.96m to finish in second place in the B final. Whilst in the A final, Aharon Graham-Mulvaney (Cardiff Athletics) finished first overall with a new personal best height of 4.11m.

Grace Morgan (Cardiff Archers) took to the track in the 60m hurdles and 60m sprint. Morgan qualified with a time of 8.69 second in heat, before running a season best in the C Final with a time of 8.63 seconds. Whilst, in the 60m, Morgan finished first in her heat with another season best time of 7.85 seconds.

Olivia Scrimshaw (Deeside AAC) secured an indoor long jump personal best, with a distance of 5.75m.

Commodore Challenge, 12 – 13 January

Sarah Omoregie (Cardiff/Vanderbilt University) was in action in Nashville, Tennessee. Omoregie finished fourth in the senior women’s shot put with a distance of 16.41m.
