After winning his gold medal Tomi shared:

“Before my race I was determined to do my best. I can't believe I'm Commonwealth Youth Games Champion.

“There was a very strong crowd and it was special to have my teammates running onto the track to congratulate me.”

Tomi’s coach and athletics team support Morgan Jones added:

"Tomi’s gold medal is a historic moment in Commonwealth Youth Games, with this being the first games with Para sport included in the competition.

Tomi has worked incredibly hard for this moment and thoroughly deserves the result that he achieved.”

Tomi will be back in action later this week in the men’s T38 long jump on Thursday at 21:55 (UK Time).
