THE LAUNCH OF THE 2021 MODERNISATION AND DEVELOPMENT FUND

25/01/2021 00:00, In Blog /

We are pleased to announce the launch of the 2021 Modernisation and Development Fund to support athletics activity across Wales.

Over the last couple of weeks, we have released a series of club support and engagement measures to help support the sport to move forward. These include; the latest webinar series to support club development, the ‘In Conversation With’ engagement sessions where we are catching up with all of the recipients of the most recent National Awards, and the Unite Virtual Conference series to support the wider volunteer network across Wales in all areas of the sport. The 2021 Modernisation and Development Fund is another way in which we are looking to help provide assistance and support to grassroots athletics here in Wales.

Chris Moss, Head of Development and Participation, added;

“We are all more than aware of the challenges that the sport has faced and are currently facing due to the impact of COVID-19. The Club Modernisation and Development Fund is a fantastic opportunity for clubs across Wales to access potential grant aid to support projects at this time.

Over the last 9-10 months, we have seen clubs adapt, evolve, and develop, it is important that this fund is utilised by clubs, in the first instance, to support an increase in; engagement, interaction, and support for its members, therefore, applications that promote the use of technology and modern ways of working will be given the highest priority. I am excited about the potential positive impact that this funding will have on the sport across Wales”.

Further information as well as how to apply can be found here: Welsh Athletics – Modernisation and Development Fund 2021.
