Launch of Welsh Athletics 10K Challenge
10/06/2020 00:00, In Blog / Club Notice Board /
Following on from an incredibly successful webinar focusing on the art of 10K training & racing delivered by James Thie, Welsh Athletics are delighted to launch the next of their virtual challenges – the Welsh Athletics 10K Challenge.
Entries are open now (Wednesday 10th June) via OpenTrack and runners will have a 3-week period to prepare, hopefully being able to put to work some tips from last night’s webinar.
Performances can be submitted on the weekend of Saturday 4th – Sunday 5th July – we ask that runners select routes that will not take them more than 5 miles from their house. A loop that starts & finishes where you live is recommended. Full participant information will be sent out once entries have closed.
This event will support the charity Mind with optional donations on entry into the challenge. Mind is a charity that provides advice & support to anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
You can donate separately to your local Mind Charity rather through the OpenTrack donation. However, all the money donated through OpenTrack will be donated to Mind Cymru.
Entries will close at 5pm on Friday 3rd July.
