Keith Powell Obituary & Funeral Details

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Keith Powell on the 31 January 2026.
Known by many as the 'Legend of the Cornelly Striders', 40 years ago, he founded the Cornelly Striders running group in North Cornelly, which today has over 150 members.
Keith was also one of the very first to support Porthcawl parkrun and became a regular participant each Saturday. Despite his health declining, he celebrated his 450th parkrun in the autumn.
He was also selected to compete for Wales on multiple occasions, with his most recent selection being at the age of 70.
A true hero of our sport.
Our condolences go out to his family and friends at this difficult time.
Funeral Details:
Funeral service at Margam Crematorium on Friday 6 March at 3.15pm.
