John 'Jack' Thomas Obituary & Funeral Details

We are saddened to share the passing of John ‘Jack’ Thomas.
Centurion 606 and an esteemed member of Woodford Green AC in his heyday, a former long serving Welsh Athletics Honorary Walking Secretary, author of the Walking Section in their excellent Millennium Handbook, author of the Walking Section in Woodford Green with Essex Ladies AC's Centenary Handbook, a top class Judge of Walking, a former Welsh Championship Senior race walking gold medallist and Welsh Senior International Representative.
The current issue of "Essex Walker" (pages 3 & 4) contains a lengthy article which marked his "milestone" 90th birthday last month.

Family and friends of Jack Thomas are invited to attend the funeral service of Jack, which will be held at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Bulwark Road, Bulwark, Chepstow, NP16 5JE, on Wednesday 18 June at 11.30 am, followed by a committal service at Langstone Vale Crematorium, Magor Road, Langstone, Newport, NP18 2BP at 1.00pm. The family invites you to celebrate Jack's life and share stories over light refreshments at the Old Barn Inn, Magor Road, Newport, NP18 2EB.
