GB & NI U20 Team Named for 2025 Mannheim Gala

A talented squad of 29 athletes has been selected to represent Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the 2025 Mannheim Gala in Germany, taking place on 28–29 June.

The Mannheim Gala serves as a key development opportunity for U20 athletes, particularly in preparation for the European Athletics U20 Championships later this summer. The team features a blend of experienced international competitors and emerging talents.

After an outstanding performance at the Loughborough International in the men’s 4x100m with a time of 39.54 will see Teddy Wilson (Marvin Rowe, Shaftesbury Barnett), the reigning Commonwealth Youth Games champion and European U18 100M record holder line up alongside relay silver medallist at last year’s World Athletics Junior Championships, Dean Patterson (David Watson, Glasgow Jaguars) in a strong men’s 4x100M relay team.

Charlotte Henrich, the fastest U20 performance in 400m this season with 52.39 will team up with the 400m hurdles 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games Champion Stephanie Okoro in the women’s 4x400m relay team.

Silver medallist from the 2024 European U18 Championships, Thea Brown (Ashley Bryant, Sale Harriers) will line up in the heptathlon.

In addition to the selected squad. Two further field athletes have been chosen for the event subject to UKA receiving confirmation that their events will be held at the Gala.

The Mannheim Gala provides an excellent platform for our U20 athletes to gain valuable international experience. This selection reflects the depth of talent within our junior ranks, and we look forward to seeing these athletes perform on the European stage.
