At this year’s 2023 Welsh Athletics & Run Wales Annual Awards we will be fundraising for Latch, a Welsh Children's Cancer Charity which supports children receiving treatment for cancer and leukaemia. This charity was chosen by the family of Ethan Hamer, an extremely talented Cardiff Archers athlete who sadly passed away following a battle with cancer earlier this year.

The charity supports the children and their families who are being treated by the Oncology Unit at the Children’s Hospital of Wales, by providing on-site family accommodation to keep families together, social work services specifically focused on emotional support for not only parents but also brothers and sisters, treat days for the families and financial aid through grants for travel, food and even rent.

James Williams, Welsh Athletics CEO also shared:

“We are delighted to be supporting Latch at this year’s Welsh Athletics & Run Wales Annual Awards, we hope to raise valuable funds for a charity close to many in our community.”

Menai Owen-Jones, LATCH Welsh Children's Cancer Charity CEO added:

“We can’t thank Welsh Athletics enough for this brilliant support in our 40th anniversary year!”

Donations can be made by entering the charity raffle on the night of the awards, with many exclusive prizes up for grabs!

This cause is so close to Welsh Athletics so we would love your support. If you would like to donate or get involved in the charity raffle, please contact eleanor.cartlidge@welshathletics.org
