From Paths to Peaks: Successful LiRF and Fell Leader Courses Delivered at Erddig Hall

This past weekend saw two fantastic coaching courses delivered in the stunning surroundings of Erddig Hall. We kicked off with a Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) course in the morning, providing new leaders with the skills and confidence to support safe, inclusive running sessions within their communities. Participants engaged in practical sessions, learned about planning effective sessions, and explored how to support a wide range of runners.
Following this, we delivered the Fell, Hill, Off-Road and Trail Leader course, a more advanced module designed for those looking to lead groups in more challenging outdoor environments. The course focused on navigation, risk management, and adapting sessions for varied terrain, all within the beautiful National Trust landscape of Erddig.
A huge thank you to Laurel Smith, Community Engagement Officer at Erddig, for her incredible support in hosting these courses. Her help was instrumental in making the weekend a success. And of course, a big thank you to all the participants who brought such energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to both courses. Your engagement made the sessions truly rewarding, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact you’ll make within your running communities.
If you’re feeling inspired to lead and support others in their running journeys, why not join one of our upcoming courses and take the first step into coaching.
