23/04/2020 00:00, In Club Notice Board /

Deeside AC to do a relay around Flintshire calling at local hospitals & raising money for the NHS.

Here's another great example of one of our Welsh Athletics' clubs coming together to Stay Active and contribute to their community at the same time as getting involved in the 2.6 Challenge, Neil Edwards, Deeside's Chairman, told us:

This coming Sunday will see our Senior Middle Distance athletes, coaches and parents running almost 100M as we undertake the Deeside 2.6 Relay Challenge in support of the NHS.   Undertaking social distancing guidelines, each runner will partake in 2.6k or 2.6M splits (or multiples thereof).

The charity we will support will be our local NHS Hospitals League of Friends (we will pass four hospitals en-route – Mold Community, Countess of Chester, Wrexham Maelor and Penley Community) as we do our bit to help support the continued fight against COVID 19. We are fortunate enough to be supported in our challenge by our former athlete and current GB International, Charlie Hulson.

Please help us raise as much money as possible for this fantastic cause and head to our fundraising page:https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/DeesideAAC2.6RelayChallenge

The Club has also been busy on social media, getting their Junior's involved in some home-based challenges and some tough hill sessions on the country lanes!
