The start of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games is only two weeks away, and one of the first events will be the marathon on the morning of Saturday 30th July. Dewi Griffiths, Natasha Cockram, and Clara Evans will be representing Wales and we want them to have as much support as possible on the course!

We have picked our spot - the runners will go past four times on the two lap course and we'll be setting up a' cheering station'. We would love to see you there! Bring your flags, banners, face paints and be ready to make some noise!

Putting together her last preparations ahead of the race, Natasha highlights how important spectators and fans are.

“I can’t wait to pull on the Welsh vest and represent the country. I always aim to leave everything out on the course but when representing the country, especially in front of home supporters, somehow it gives you that extra boost to dig even deeper”

Whilst Clara also recognises the role supporters can have on her performance.

“Welsh supporters are always the most passionate so it's going to be fantastic to get their support out on the course. In the marathon, it always gets tough, so hopefully they can give me a lift when I need it.”
