Welsh Athletics Indoor Junior Open Day 2

This event incorporates alongside the Junior Open the regional Indoor T&F championships for South Wales, East Wales, West Wales & South West England

  • This is day 2 of 2 where events are split due to the high intake of numbers per event
  • This event is only for U13, U15 & U17 athletes

Field events are capped to 40 per age group, per event.

Any athlete(s) who do not supply a personal best or valid time from the last 12 months, will be seeded in a slower heat/race. 
Welsh Athletics are not responsible for updating athletes times as this option is available upon entry into the event.
If Any athletes has overlooked this option upon entry if they email Darran Williams then the entry profile can be updated before the closing date. No amendments will be made after the closing date.

U13 Girls 60m, 60m Hurdles, 800m 1500m, Shot Put -[800m or 1500m not both]
U13 Boys 60m, 60m Hurdles, 800m 1500m, Long Jump -[800m or 1500m not both]
U15 Girls 60m, 60m Hurdles, 800m 1500m, Pole Vault, Shot Put -[800m or 1500m not both]
U15 Boys 60m, 60m Hurdles, 800m 1500m, Pole Vault, Long Jump -[800m or 1500m not both]
U17 Women 60m, 60m Hurdles, 800m 1500m, Pole Vault, Long Jump
U17 Men 60m, 60m Hurdles, 800m 1500m, Pole Vault, Long Jump

West Wales athletes have their
60m, 60m Hurdles, High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Shot Put, Triple Jump at the 12th January event

Regional Conditions for entry

East Wales
(A) Birth: If born in Blaenau Gwent, Newport, Monmouthshire, Torfaen, Powys and Caerphilly
(B) Residence: If have been resident, (9 months) continuously in East Wales since August 1st 2018
(C) Retention: If having qualified under (b) or (c), they retain the qualification until they acquire residential qualification and compete in the championships of another Welsh region or an English county AND They have not taken part in a different Welsh Regional or English County Championships and not represented another Welsh Region or and English County in an Inter-Regional or Inter County event since October 1st 2018

South Wales     
(A) Birth: If born in one of the five administrative counties of Bridgend, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taff and the Vale of Glamorgan or in the former Mid Glamorgan section of Caerphilly (previous selected athletes only)
(B) Residence: If have been resident, (9 months) continuously in South Wales since August 1st 2018
(C) Retention: If having qualified under (b) or (c), they retain the qualification until they acquire residential qualification and compete in the championships of another Welsh region or an English county AND They have not taken part in a different Welsh Regional or English County Championships and not represented another Welsh Region or and English County in an Inter-Regional or Inter County event since October 1st 2018

West Wales      
(A) Birth: If the athlete having been born in West Wales (Dyfed or West Glamorgan).
(B) Residence: if the Athlete has been in residence a minimum of 9 months continuous in West Wales immediately prior to this event

South West England      
(A) Birth: The athlete having been born in the South West of England, comprising the counties of Avon, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire.
(B) Residence: A minimum of 9 months continuous residence in the South West immediately prior to the event to be competed in.  NB: University Residence does not count as a South West qualification.
(C) Retention: By first claim membership of an EA affiliated Club within the South West competition area that has registered with EA for Track and Field and is a paid up member of the EA registration scheme
