Spirit of Monmouth – Kymin Dash Event Information

The Kymin Dash is a challenging and very scenic 7 mile race, straight up to the top of the Kymin above Monmouth, and back down on a long scenic loop of the Wye Valley.

Spirit of Monmouth Running Club are proud to present this race following on from the continued success and growth of previous years.

The course starts with an ascent to the Round House, a local viewpoint at around 850ft. The opening mile or so will certainly give your lungs a workout. What goes up must come down and a gentle descent through fields and the bluebell carpeted forest tracks before a long flat finish along the Hadnock Road into the Monmouth School Sports Club.

There are prizes for the ‘King’ and ‘Queen’ of the hill (first to the top) as well as finishing places.

Race HQ: Haberdashers School Sports Complex, Hadnock Road, Monmouth, NP25 3NG

Number and Chip Collection: will be open from 9.30am and will close at 10.45am prompt. Numbers not collected in this time may not be accessible. Nothing will be sent out in advance of the race. 

Chip Timing: The race is run with reusable chips; these are worn on your ankle and will be handed out with your number. Chips and ankle bracelets will be collected at the end, failure to do so may occur and additional charge. 

Bag Drop: Bags can be left in the school hall at the designated location however these are left strictly at your own risk.

Parking: There is limited parking at the Sports Centre, please car share where possible. 

Refreshments: Tea, Coffee, Cakes etc will be available on site for you to purchase. 

Prizes: Will be awarded after the event in the following categories; King of the Hill, Queen of the Hill, 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed Male and Female and Age Category Prizes in 10 year bands. There will also be Male and Female Team Prizes - Four to a team.
