The Welsh Athletics #SupportYourClub campaign continues and this week, as we have in recent weeks, we are highlighting the amazing work that clubs have been doing with their membership.
We have already featured a number of clubs and showcased the fantastic ways that clubs are adapting to the changes and engaging their members. This week we highlight Llanelli AC and reflect on the great work that Deeside AAC have been up to over the weekend as part of their 2.6 Challenge…
The West Wales club have been fully embracing the #SupportYourClub campaign and setting weekly challenges for their athletes. It is great to see so many young athletes staying fit, staying active at home, in the garden and getting the whole family involved in the activities. See what the club is up to on the club's twitter feed.
At the end of last week, we highlighted Deeside AAC as one of the clubs getting behind the 2.6 Challenge (see preview) in their relay around Flintshire calling at local hospitals to help to raise money for the NHS Hospitals League of Friends. It was fantastic to see all of the activity across the social media networks and the club did an amazing job of fundraising. The club was looking to raise £1000 but to date have raised over £4300.00 and the great news is that if you missed it, there is still time to dig deep and give to this cause via the Deeside AAC donation page.
We know this is an uncertain and strange time for many clubs and members, and we are working hard to ensure that we offer as much support to our whole community as possible. As a gift to all registered club members, we are able to offer exclusive access to our DWFF discount of 30% off all online purchases (on orders over £50). Once the club has registered the club member they will receive their online membership pack with details for how to access this discount. Further information on this offer is availablehere.
Just for fun – one you may have missed…
