OFFICIALS REWARD SCHEME 

As part of our continued commitment to recruit and support officials, we are pleased to announce a refresh our Welsh Athletics Officials Reward Scheme. This was launched in 2020 in order to acknowledge both the commitment and progression that is shown by our volunteer officials each year.

Details of the updated scheme can be found below this will be implemented 2024 onwards:

Track & Field Officials – Upgrade Scheme 
Level 1 – UKA Ready reference cards
Level 2 - Welsh Athletics Black Cap
Level 3 – Portrait or Landscape Weather Writer with Welsh Athletics band
Level 4 – Commemorative wooden plaque & letter of congratulations from the Officials Committee

Endurance Officials – Upgrade Scheme
Level 1 – TBC
Level 2 – Welsh Athletics Beanie Hat
Level 3 – Portrait or Landscape Weather Writer with Welsh Athletics band
Level 4 - Commemorative wooden plaque & letter of congratulations from the Officials Committee

Lifetime Awards & Service Recognition
3 years’ service – Bronze Pin Badge
5 years’ service – Silver Pin Badge
10 years’ service – Gold Pin Badge
15 years’ service – Meritorious Award
25 years’ service – Award of Honour
40 years’ service – UKA Lifetime Achievement Award

(Secondary officials: 20 events – Bronze Pin Badge, 30 events – Silver Pin Badge, 50 events – Gold Pin Badge)

Annually within the Welsh Athletics Awards Dinner two outstanding officials are recognised in the Officials catergory. Two awards are open to nominations for both Track & Field and Endurance officials the following awards are: 'Official of the Year' & 'Newcomer to Officiating'. 

"On behalf of Welsh Athletics, I would like to thank all our dedicated officials across Athletics in Wales. As part of our continued recognition to the Officials who support numerous events throughout the year. Without their continued support no event would be possible. After 4 years we have now refreshed our reward scheme (2024) these rewards are distributed for progressing to a new official level or length of service milestones".
