Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) Online Modules & Practical Session

The Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) course is designed to equip you with the knowledge and insurance to lead running based fitness sessions for people over 12 years of age. The course focuses on understanding and overcoming barriers to participation in running and enables you to deliver fun and safe sessions for multi ability groups. This qualification will provide you with insurance to lead a group within the limits of the course content. Leadership in Running Fitness is part of the Run Leader Development Pathway and is a prerequisite course for the Coach in Running Fitness qualification.

Candidates must engage in tasks and activities throughout the course and demonstrate improvement in engagement following any discussions with course staff. Candidates not engaging within all aspects of the course are at risk of not gaining the qualification at the end of the process.

Duration: 4 online modules + 3 hour practical session

What else do you need once you have booked on your course?

Furthermore, you will need to

• complete the mandatory training on Athletics Hub which is included in the course price, it includes Safeguarding Certificate and First Aid Certificate 

• complete a DBS check https://www.welshathletics.org/en/page/dbs - if you have an enhanced DBS send a copy to dbs@uka.org they will decide if they accept it and add it manually to your profile

• upload a picture to myathletics portal Sign In | UK Athletics (same log in details as for athletics hub)
