About this event
As part of the University of Wolverhampton's sponsorship of the Stafford Half Marathon 2021, this is the third in a three-part lecture series focused on distance running.
The presentation will look to provide help and guidance for runners of all abilities to help them achieve their full potential on race day. We will cover how sports science can be used by all not just the elite and present practical tips to help with training plans, race preparation, and the race day itself.
Presenter Bio:
Professor Andy Lane is a Professor of Sport Psychology at the University of Wolverhampton. Andy has over 20 years' worth of experience specializing in applied sport psychology, emotions, achieving goals, and self-regulation. He has edited two books, authored over 200 peer-refereed journal articles, and has worked with a range of elite and recreational endurance athletes.
Presenter Bio:
Dr. Ross Cloak is Head of the Department for Sport and Associate Professor in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Wolverhampton. His primary research interest is exercise physiology and sports performance. His applied work has been conducted in professional football, combat sports, and a number of track and endurance athletes.
