BMAF Virtual 5K Relays

During this period, the growth of the virtual racing initiative has been tremendous.  Welsh Athletics are encouraging as many of our members as possible to take part in virtual races where it safe for them to do so and therefore we have worked with the British Masters Athletic Federation to incorporate a Welsh category into their upcoming BMAF Virtual 5K relays.

The event, taking place from 14th – 20th June celebrates the Masters Road Relay & 5K Championships, both of which have unfortunately been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and raises money for

Entry is free to all affiliated clubs an age groups will be in 10-year categories.  Both individual and team entries are welcome – the system will automatically detect teams of the correct number within each age category.

Certificates will be awarded from the BMAF to each member of the first three Welsh teams in each age group based on cumulative times, and also the fastest three registered athletes in each age category.

Full details of the event, and links to entry can be found here: https://data.opentrack.run/x/2020/GBR/bmaf-virtual-rr/

We are promoting this in conjunction with BMAF to our masters members – hoping it will have quite a popular uptake.

Important to note too that we are not doing any admin for this event – it is set up & run completely by the BMAF so any queries should be directed to them - rmcintyre@bmaf.org.uk
