Teacher Education Courses

08/06/2021 00:00, In Blog /

Either side of last week's half term the Welsh Schools Athletics Association ran two successful virtual teacher training and development courses. One for Primary Schools and the other for Secondary Schools, which are designed to place running, jumping, and throwing at the heart of school physical education, whilst supporting teachers in delivering athletics activities in an inclusive, exciting, and engaging manner.

The workshops are accompanied by free access to the Secondary or Primary Schools App-based Resource which include:

  • Examples of Schemes of Work and Lesson Plans
  • Technical tips on how to teach running, jumping, and throwing events and activities
  • Activity cards covering a full range of athletics events for pupils
  • Pupil Tasks Cards for greater independent learning

Each of these workshops is scheduled for the remainder of this academic year, which are aimed at qualified and trainee teachers, as well as those supporting the management and delivery of high-quality sport and physical education in schools.

  • Friday 25th June Secondary Workshop 9.30 am to 3.30 pm
  • Monday 28th June Primary Workshop 10.00 am to 3.00 pm
