We are delighted to announce the next round of the Modernisation Grant is now open for applications. The Modernisation Grant will give our clubs a boost to support activities that will increase engagement and develop infrastructure & workforce. Over the years we have been proud to support applications that are leading the way via innovative projects that focus on modernising and developing clubs across Wales.

We welcome applications from our affiliated clubs (up to £2000), Regional Athletics Councils and Schools Districts (up to £1000). Applications that are aligned to the strategy for the sport ‘A vision for Athletics in Wales 2019-2026’, have a focus around increasing engagement and growth of the club, are encouraged and will be held with higher priority.  

Applicants can get in touch with their local Club Development Officer for advice on completing the application process or for further guidance on what will be funded. To further support clubs in the application process, you can watch the funding webinar here.

If you have previously received funding through this grant you will need to complete and return a ‘Project Completion Report’ (if not already completed) prior to applying for funding in this round. Download the report form here.

Deadline for applications is Monday 19 June 2023, midday. Completed applications should be emailed to office@welshathletics.org with the subject line ‘Modernisation Grant 2023’. The Grants Panel will consider and decide on all applications after the closing date and applicants will be notified thereafter.
