Event Overview
The combined Welsh Inter-Schools / Inter-Regional Cross Country Championships will take place on Saturday the 19th November at the Monmouthshire Showground.
Races will use a new winding multi-lap circuit which is great for spectators at the venue that hosted the Welsh Cross Country Relays back in 2017.

Parking is provided on-site at the Showground and will be charged at £3 per car. Access to the site is from the A466 Redbrook Road.

Race HQ including the registration function will be based at the Monmouthshire Showground Building (as located on the course map).
Registration will open at 9:30. Numbers for the Inter-Regional Championships have been sent to regional team managers in advance.
Numbers for athletes competing only in the Inter-Schools Championships can be collected by athletes / School Teachers directly from Race HQ
Numbers for athletes competing in the Primary School Races can also be picked up from Race HQ.
All numbers must be collected no later than 40 mins before the race start time.

The Venue
Monmouthshire Showground is a great venue for Cross Country Racing and has previosuly been used as the venue for the Welsh Cross Country Relay Championships and for the Gwent cross Country League.
The Showground Building will be used for Race HQ. Toilets & showers (a small amount of showers) are available at the Showground Building.
A caterer will also be located in that area along with a marquee selling Welsh Athletics Merchandise.

The Races
The first race will be at 11:20. The races will host competition both in the Welsh Inter-Regional Championships, Welsh Inter-Schools Championships and Welsh Colleges Championships.
The races will use a winding / technical course that is undulating and is expected to be quite muddy in places.Team size and scoring is as follows;

Inter-Schools Championships
U13 - U20: School teams with no maximum limit on team members and 4 to score

Inter-Regional Championships
U13 - U17: 15 team members with 8 to score
U20: 15 team members with 4 to score
Seniors: 15 team members and 8 to score
Masters: 35, 45, 55: 15 team members per age group and 5 to score. 65+: 5 team members and 3 to score.

Please note that the M65 competitors will compete in the Senor / Master women's race.

Presentations will be made near the entrance to the course at the finish area as soon as results are available following each race.
Where possible presentations will be made for all categories on the day as follows
Primary Races: 1st, 2nd, 3rd individuals for each race and for each gender.
Inter-Regional Championships / Inter-Schools / Welsh Colleges: 1st, 2nd, 3rd individuals / 1st, 2nd, 3rd teams

Primary Races
There is one race boys / girls in year's 3 & 4 and one for boys / girls in year's 5 & 6, both 1,390m and at 11:20 and 11:40 respectively.
On the day entries (for Primary School Races only) will be taken at the registration area from 9:30.
Prizes will be issued for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd individual athletes.
