The 2021 Welsh Inter-Regional Cross Country Championships will take place in a combined fixture with the Welsh Inter-Schools Championships at Penlan Arena in Brecon.

The event will also host the Welsh Colleges Cross Country Championships in the U17 / U20 races.

Some event information follows;

Overview
The Welsh Inter-Regional Cross Country Championships will be held in conjunction with the Welsh Inter-Schools Championships for the second time in 2021. The event will use a new course at the tried and tested venue, the Penlan Arena in Brecon.

Arrival
Parking is available at Brecon High School (LD3 9SR) using the old school entrance and the new school entrance which is the first left turn after the leisure centre, travelling north on the B4602. Both locations share the same postcode. The venue is then just a short walk away and will be clearly marked.

Additional parking is available at Brecon Leisure Centre (LD3 9SR)

Important Notice: Please DO NOT PARK ON THE B4602. You may be booked.

Registration
Race HQ including the registration function will be based at the Brecon AC Pavilion alongside the Athletics Track. Registration will open at 9:30. Numbers for the Inter-Regional Championships should be collected by Regional Team Managers. Numbers for athletes competing only in the Inter-Schools Championships can be collected by athletes / School Teachers.

All numbers must be collected no later than 40 mins before the race start time.

The Venue
The Penlan Arena has traditionally been used for cross country racing for decades and holds the Welsh Schools and Welsh Inter-Schools Cross Country Championships annually. Building work at the venue means that this event will use a smaller remaining site that offers a compact, undulating course with the start and finish area on the opposite side of the Athletics Track, to the Brecon AC Pavilion.

The pavilion will be used for race registration and a tuck shop will also be available, operated by local club Brecon AC.

Toilets and changing facilities are available near the start / finish area as indicated on the course map and at the leisure centre. Toilets for event staff / volunteers are available at the pavilion.

The Races
The first race will be at 11:30. The races will host competition both in the Welsh Inter-Regional Championships, Welsh Inter-Schools Championships and Welsh Colleges Championships.

The races will use a winding / technical course that is undulating and is expected to be very muddy in places.
