Tom Jones Memorial, Florida

Olympian Joe Brier (Swansea) ran the race of his life over 400m this weekend recording a time of 45.74s, a new personal best and a Commonwealth Games Nomination Standard

Sam Gordon (Cardiff) ran 21.11 over 200m in the Men’s invite race, finishing 12th overall, whilst Dewi Hammond (Cardiff) placed 14th in a time of 21.44 and Arron Owen (Cardiff) 16th in a time of 21.91. Both Sam and Dewi also competed over the 100m, recording times of 10.34s and 10.31s.

Hannah Brier (Swansea) ran 23.27 (+2.5) in the Women’s 200m invite, finishing in 3rd in her heat. This time would have also been a Commonwealth Games Nomination Standard had the wind reading been legal. Hannah doubled back in the Women's 100m, recording a time of 11.46s for 3rd in her heat.

In the women's 400m, Amy Odunaiya (Wrexham) ran another strong race, stopping the clock in 54.70s.

Both the mens and womens relay teams were back in action again, with the ladies running 45.48s and the men 39.36s.

Jonny Hopkins (Swansea) was back on the track again this weekend, tackling the steeplechase once again. In a race which included American Record holder Evan Jager, Jonny finished 4th in a very close finish. Backing up his performance from two weeks ago, he recorded a time of 8:36.9, once again agonisingly close to the Commonwealth Games Nomination Standard. Lauren Cooper (Parc Bryn Bach) made the trip over from Wales to line up in the Women’s 3000m steeplechase, clocking a time of 10:36.45. In the Men's 1500, James Heneghan clocked a 3:55.5 to place second.
