Regional Development Programme roles on offer

12/07/2022 00:00, I Mewn Blog / Club Notice Board /

Without engaged athletes and coaches our sport would not function. We have a range of paid and voluntary roles across all disciplines and across Wales to help coordinate and support our successful Regional Development Programme for coaches and young athletes.  The roles will work with the event group's National Talent Development Coordinator to ensure that athletes and coaches can develop their knowledge and understanding of both their current Event Group, and the wider opportunities to participate that athletics offers.

Role purpose: To support the National Talent Development Co-ordinator in the organisation, delivery, and evaluation of localised Regional Development Days.  The Regional Days will be a mixture of both skills based and education-based learning, with 3 planned activity sessions per year.

We are looking for people with a passion to support the development of athletes and coaches, someone who can listen to the needs of a community, deliver a curriculum of activity, and build relationships with clubs/schools where appropriate. The role will involve liaising with Welsh Athletics Performance and Development personnel, so ensuring good communication of activity is key. Within this varied role you will be required to assist in the coordination of regional development activity and attend events and competitions in order to meet and get to know our athletes and coaches.
