The Welsh Trail Running Championships (long course) will take place within the Sialens Y Barcud Coch – Red Kite Challenge Half Marathon Race in mid-Wales this Saturday, 4th May.

The event at Devils Bridge near Aberystwyth will host the Championships for U15, U17, U20’s and Seniors. It will also play host to the West Wales Championships and the Welsh team trial for the WMRA International Youth Cup.

Richard Roberts is a seasoned Mountain Runner who should be suited to the demanding and at times steep terrain at Devils Bridge. The Eryri Harrier’s last race win came at the Anglesey Half Marathon in 2017. Tomos Roberts of Meirionydd is another notable entry and has shown good road form this year with sub 32 and sub 70 clockings for 10km and half marathon.

The junior races will see defending U15 Champion Matthew Anthony of Deeside AAC, and U17 Champion Joseph Reardon of Aberdare Valley in action. U17 Champion Gwyneth Parry of Deeside AAC will also return to defend her title.

The short course Championships will be held over 10km within the Royal Welsh Trail Running Festival in Builth Wells on Saturday 18th May.
