Welsh Athletics marks Volunteers’ Week 2023.

01/06/2023 00:00, I Mewn Blog / Club Notice Board /

2023 marks the 39th year of Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June), we have joined thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK. With this year’s theme of ‘Celebrate and Inspire’ we hope to encourage people to be the change that we want to see and get involved in volunteering in whatever way works for them.

Volunteers and officials are the lifeblood of our sport and are often unseen and unrecognised, so taking time during Volunteers’ week to celebrate all their hard work and their efforts has never been more important.

Zoe Holloway, Officials and Volunteer Coordinator shared:

"On behalf of Welsh Athletics, I give a sincere thank you to our volunteers and officials across the Welsh sporting athletics landscape for the hours dedicated hosting competitions, managing clubs, growing talent and providing opportunities which would not be possible without volunteers.

This year we will also be using Volunteers week to inspire more people to get involved in volunteering, celebrate our great volunteers and officials that are involved in Athletics in Wales and highlight the various volunteering opportunities on offer".
