Welsh Athletics achieves Healthy Working Wales Active Employer Badge

Healthy Working Wales is a branch of Public Health Wales which offers advice, guidance and resources to organisations to create healthier workplaces. Their Active Employer badge recognises organisations that have completed the initial steps of the Healthy Working Wales journey and are actively beginning to develop their approach to workplace wellbeing.

Welsh Athletics has been involved in an ongoing pilot process with Healthy Working Wales to create a Wellbeing Action Plan, ensuring wellbeing is embedded across the company. This recognition badge is the first of two that can be achieved to demonstrate commitment to workplace wellbeing.

Welsh Athletics Culture Lead & Business Coordinator, Eleanor Cartlidge, said:

We are so proud to have achieved the Active Employer badge at Welsh Athletics. As a team that promotes the importance of wellbeing within our community, embedding this same approach within our own workforce enforces our commitment to creating a healthy, supportive environment.

Working towards this has helped encourage us to prioritise communication, regular movement breaks and strengthen internal support.

Receiving the badge gives us an opportunity to continue supporting the brilliant people who work so hard to build our community, as well as the motivation to carry on with the recognition process alongside Healthy Working Wales.
