NOVUNA UK ATHLETICS INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS - BIRMINGHAM, FEBRUARY 13 - 14
Welsh athletes plundered a fantastic 15 medals at the Novuna UK Indoor Athletics Championships in Birmingham.
The tally featured five golds, six silvers and four bronze medals as well as a flurry of new Welsh indoor records. A number of other athletes put in hugely creditable performances across the weekend.

ARMAGH INTERNATIONAL ROAD RACE 5K 2026 – FEBRUARY 12
Welsh Athletics sent a team of some of the nation’s most promising young athletes to take part in the hugely prestigious Armagh International Road Race.
In the men’s 5K race, Under-23 athlete Adam Barber (Harborough AC) was the first of the Welsh team home, placing 16th in 13.54. Next was Under-20 Iwan Thomas (Carmarthen Harriers) in 101st and 14.49 mins.
Under-23 Henry Evans (Cardiff AC) was 122nd in 14.57 and Under-20 Oberon Kearney (Warriors Pentathlon and Athletics Club) was 142nd in 15.05.
The Welsh team was fifth out of the seven teams taking part.
In the women’s races, there was an excellent performance from Bryony Boyce (Cardiff Athletics). Boyce, who is an Under-18 athlete, finished 23rd overall and was the second junior to finish in 9.36.
Under-23 Poppy Elton (Worcester AC) was 25th in 9.37, while Heather Watson (Deeside AAC), who is an Under-18 athlete, was 47th in 10.09. Under-20 Rebecca Harries (Cardiff AC) was 76th in 10.35. The women’s team was fifth out of five.
Among the other Welsh athletes to compete were Kayley Price (Newport Harriers) who was 20th in 9.34, Darcie Bass (Swansea Harriers) 33rd in 9.51 and Emily Lowery (Vale Royal) 38th in 9.56.
In the men’s race, Jonathan Butler (Swansea Harriers) was 38th in 14.13 and Under-23 athlete Joe Rees Gara (Wigan) was 67th in 14.35.
More than 522 athletes finished the races, with more than 129 runners completing the 5K course in under 15 minutes.
DUBAI GRAND PRIX – FEBRUARY 13
Transition Programme para athlete James Ledger (Swansea Harriers) and his guide runner Greg Kelly finished second in the T11/12 race in Dubai, clocking a season’s best time of 11.87.
BUCS INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026 – SHEFFIELD, FEBRUARY 13 – 15
A number of Welsh athletes shone at the BUCS Indoor Championships in Sheffield across last weekend.
Among the stand out performers was Jack Organ (Oxford University) in the men’s 800m. Organ ran the fastest time of the heats as he registered a season’s best 1:54.33 before going on to finish second in his semi-final in 1:50.27. The final saw Organ take gold in 1:51.29.
Having won the 60m hurdles titles at the UK Indoor Athletics Championships on Saturday, Abi Pawlett (Birmingham) claimed bronze in the women’s shot put final with 14.08m.
National Development Programme F35 athlete William Bishop (Cardiff Met) won the ambulant long jump final with a season’s best 4.45m.
Bishop also ran a new PB of 8.85 as he finished fourth in the ambulant men’s 60m heats and then improved his time further in the final where he clocked 8.71.
In the men’s 60m final, Eniola Adedotun (Swansea University) finished fourth in 6.81, while Luca Logue-Fonseca (Birmingham) was fifth in 6.90.
Toks Akanbi-Mortimer (Cardiff Met) finished fourth in the men’s high jump final with a best of 1.83m. He also finished fourth in the men’s long jump final with 7.07m. In the men’s 400m final, Jacob Winter (Cardiff Met) was fifth in 50.90.

NORTH WALES CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE (5) – OSWESTRY, FEBRUARY 14
Commonwealth Games and World Athletics Championships marathoner Andy Davies (Maldwyn Harriers) followed up his win at the previous fixture in Shrewsbury by once again taking the honours in the senior men’s race here.
The M45 athlete completed the course in 29:07, ahead of Andrew Moore (Bangor University) in 29:15 and Dan Kashi (Meirionnydd) RC in 29:27.
The results saw Meirionnyd RC maintain their lead at the top of Division One ahead of Buckley RC.
In the senior women’s race, Alison Lavender (Oswestry Olympians) took the honours in 19:05 with Martha Owen (Deeside AAC) second in 19:14 and Bryony Shircore (Eryri Harriers) in 20:46.
Eryri Harriers cemented their place at the top of the senior women’s team table ahead of Deeside AC.
Among the junior races, Elis Earnshaw (Menai Track and Field) won the Under-15 boys race in 15:27 with Finlay Jones (Oswestry Olympians) second in 15:58 and Huxley Webster (Colwyn Bay AC) third in 16:26.
Martha Bown (Menai Track and Field) was thoroughly dominant in the Under-15 girls race competing the course in 11:15. Ivy Brannen (Telford AC) was next home in 12:53 followed by Grace Hughes (Wrexham AAC) in 12:57.

WELSH NATIONAL WINTER THROWS CHAMPIONSHIPS – ABERDARE, FEBRUARY 14
Some of Wales’ outstanding crop of performance pathway throwers were in action in the first ever Welsh National Winter Throws Championships at Aberdare on St Valentine’s Day.
World Para Athletics Championships competitor and World Class Programme F44 thrower Harrison Walsh (Swansea Harriers) won the senior discus with 50.45m.
European F38 record holder and World Para Athletics Championships bronze medallist Michael Jenkins (Swansea Harriers) won the Under-23 men’s discus with a season’s best effort of 55.96m. Eurion John (Cardiff Athletics) was second with 37.45m.
Great Britain age group international and National Development Programme athlete Owen Garrett (Yate and District) won the Under-20 title with 50.73m.
Another NDP athlete William Richards-Baldwin (Gloucester) won the Under-18 title with 46.14m. Richards-Baldwin also finished third in the men’s hammer with 46.03m.
F44 thrower Bree Cronin (Cardiff Athletics) who also competed at the World Para Athletics Championships in Delhi, won the women’s discus with a best of 34.10m.
NDP athlete Annabelle Jones (Wrexham/Deeside) won the Under-18 title with 26.27m. Ava John (Cardiff Athletics) was second with 25.62m. Jones also finished a creditable third in the Under-18 women’s javelin with 28.33m
NDP thrower Amelia Fettis (Newport Harriers) won the women’s Under-23 hammer with a PB of 57.19m.
Another NDP athlete Jac Sheehan (Carmarthen Athletics) won the men’s seated shot with 8.15m.
WEST WALES INDOOR ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS – DAY 2 – SWANSEA, FEBRUARY 14
More than 170 athletes from across a range of age groups took part in the event at the Swansea Bay Sports Park.
Katriel Udoh (Swansea Harriers) was amongst those who were in good form on the day.
In the Under-15 girls 60m hurdles, Udoh won her heat in 9.33 before going on to win the final in 9.12.
In the Under-15 girls 60m, Udoh won her heat in 7.82 before winning the final in 7.89. Full results below.
ZURICH SEVILLE MARATHON – FEBRUARY 15
Welsh elite endurance athletes Clara Evans-Graham and Dan Nash (both Pontypridd Roadents) impressed on the streets of Seville on Sunday.
Paris Olympian and Commonwealth Games athlete Evans-Graham finished 13th in the international women’s elite field in 2:27.03.
Meanwhile, versatile GB international Nash clocked a new personal best of 2:11.53 as he finished 32nd in a strong men’s elite field.
MONACO RUN 5K – FEBRUARY 15
Cari Hughes (Cardiff Athletics) finished 10th at the Monaco Run 5K, which saw the winner clock the second fastest time in history for a European over the distance.
Hughes, who excels over a variety of distances and disciplines clocked 15.42 in a super-fast race which was won by Diane Van Es from the Netherlands in 14.33.
RAS CORS CARON TREGARON HALF MARATHON – FEBRUARY 15
Ras Cors Caron is an undulating but fast half marathon over a scenic route which starts and finishes in Tregaron and takes in the Cors Caron Wetlands nature reserve.
This year’s men’s race was won by Owain Schiavone (Aberystwyth) in 1:18.34 as he held off the challenge of Andrew Gittins (Aberystwyth) in 1:18.48. Rhodri Williams (Sarn Helen) was third in 1:19.08.
The first female runner home was Polly Summers (Sarn Helen), who returned a time of 1:25.19. Second was Jo Lloyd Davies (Amman Valley Harriers) in 1:32.23, while Emma Palfrey (Sarn Helen) was just behind in third in 1:32.26.
NICK BEER 10K AND FUN RUN 2026 – LLANDUDNO, FEBRUARY 15
Starting on the iconic Victorian promenade in Llandudno, the route takes runners around the awe-inspiring Great Orme with its stunning views of Eryri, Anglesey and beyond.
Winner of this year’s men’s race was Hamish Morton (Cambridge and Coleridge AC), who crossed the line in 34:57. Steffan Sayer (Menai Track and Field) was second in 35:06 and Stephen Skates (Prestatyn Running Club) third in 35:31.
The women’s race was won by Emma Price (Wrexham AAC) who broke the tape in 40:31 ahead of Olivia Adelaide in 43:53 and Mared Llywelyn (Rhedwyr Hebog Runners) in 44:45.
RUTHIN 5K AND 10K – FEBRUARY 15
The men’s 10K was won by Nathan Williams (Welsh Anglo Athletes) in 32:46 ahead of Sean Truett (Buckley RC) in 33:23 and Robert Weston (Shrewsbury AC) in 34:57.
The women’s winner was Catherine Tudor Jones (Denbigh Harriers) in 43:06, who finished comfortably ahead of Lissy Jones in 45:43 and Lowri Hughes in 45:58.
In the 5k, the men’s honours went to Tony Wood (Denbigh Harriers), who crossed in 17:17, with Jake Owens (UTS Running Club) second in 17:34 and Iwan Evans (Denbigh Harriers) in 17:35.
The first female was Sophie Hill (Bury Athletic Club) in 21:07. Alix Thomas (Deeside Striders) was second in 22:38 and Celsi Ela Jones third in 22:52.
