Parents in Sport Week - Safeguarding:

Parents in Sport Week is now in its 6th year and as the campaign progresses, we always look to develop our aims to suit the changing landscape of sport. We start the week with updates on Safeguarding, to empower parents with the confidence, knowledge and tools they need to identify, and report concerns in their children’s sport.
Welsh Athletics takes its duty of care in safeguarding and welfare of all of our athletes and volunteers very seriously. Welfare covers a range of issues such as safeguarding and protecting children & adults, anti-bullying, equity, poor practice in coaching and disciplinary and grievances matters. It encompasses policies and procedures to set out minimum standards of expectations, such as codes of conduct, procedures to follow for dealing with child protection concerns, other welfare issues or complaints, and to ensure that our club meets statutory responsibilities to safeguard and protect children & adults.
Every single affiliated club has two welfare officers one male and one female who have enhanced DBS checks and that have also undertaken the relevant training to deal with any queries or concerns you may have.
