OPPORTUNITY TO REPRESENT WALES AT THE BMAF MASTERS
CROSS COUNTRY INTERNATIONAL
SATURDAY 15 November 2025
Welsh Athletics will be selecting Welsh Teams to compete at the BMAF Masters Cross Country International taking place in Leeds on Saturday 15 November 2025.
As usual the Welsh Team Selectors will meet in the middle of October to review cross country performances (Gwent League and North Wales Cross Country League) but as usual the Selectors will also take into consideration other relevant performances including results from the Cardiff 10k (7/9), Swansea 10k (14/9), the Helena Tipping 10k (14/9) and the Caernarfon 10km (10/8). We will also take into account results from the 2025 Welsh Cross Country Champs and last year’s Masters International in Belfast, and the BMAF 2025 Championships in Glasgow. We are keen to hear results from athletes not involved in either the Gwent or North Wales cross country leagues. We will give priority to cross country performances over road performances.
Whilst thepowerof10 website is a fantastic resource for collecting performances, it doesn’t always identify when athletes are eligible to represent Wales, and some of the obscure races are also missed, so we would be grateful if you would let us know of any key performances that you have achieved that may help the selectors in choosing the best teams.
As usual we are also keen to know about any new Masters. It is particularly difficult to spot those athletes who are approaching Masters stage, so if you have any athletes within your club who you feel may be good enough and interested in representing their country, then let us know some details or pass on our contact details to them.
There are teams of 5 men and women for the 35, 40, 45, & 50 and teams of 4 men and women for the 55, 60, 65, 70 & 75+ age groups. Please note this is different to previous years with the numbers of participating men and women being equalized. In ALL age categories it will be 3 to score.
Athlete are expected to make and fund their own travel and accommodation arrangements for Leeds. All athletes representing Wales for the first time are entitled to a free Welsh vest and are entitled to purchase a kit package.
