Piers Copeland (Bob Smith) ran a stunning 3.34.62 in Marseilles last night to make him the sixth Brit and second Welshman, alongside Jake Heyward to acheive the Olympic 1500m mens qualifying time ahead of the British Championships at the end of the month.

Tom Walley (Wrexham/ Swansea) vaulted the highest outdoor height by a Welsh pole vaulter since 2015 with a clearance of 5.10m in Sheffield last night. His rapid progress in 2021 suggests the Commonwealth Nomination standarrd of 5m30 could be within reach.

and there was another Welsh Record in the women's 3000m steeplechase for Lauren Cooper just a few weeks after Kate Seary set a new record of 10.21.23, Lauren ran 10.20.03 in Birmingham University BMC Gold Standard meet last night and the two look set to battle it out over the rest of the season with this time likely to come down further. There was a PB for Owen Hibbert (Neil Edwards, Deeside AC) of 1.52.73 in the men's 800m A race.
