Hulson and Hughes set new pbs at Welsh Half Champs whilst Cardiff AC win big at the National Road Relays

ERRA National Autumn Road Relays, Sutton Park – Oct 6

Cardiff AC took both a men’s and women’s team up to the Nation Autumn Road Relays yesterday in the picturesque Sutton Park.

The Women’s team consisted of  Jennifer Nesbitt, Charlotte Arter, Lucy Marland and Clara Evans. The men’s team was made up of James Heneghan, Michael Ward,  Ieuan Thomas, Ciaran Lewis, Jake Smith, James Thie.

Both teams look strong to take a medal home but it was the women that took the best position of the day winning the Women's National 4-Stage event and bringing home gold with a collective run of 57:26.

The Men’s finished just outside the medals in 4th but against held there own well in a strong field running a collective 1:45.52 in the National 6-Stage event.

Both teams showed the strong endurance talent that Wales has to offer.

Welsh Half Marathon Championships, Cardiff – Oct 6

Yesterday over 20,000 runners took place in the Cardiff Half Marathon which incorporated the Welsh Half Marathon Championships.

The sun came out to create some good weather condition for the runners with Charlie Hulson having a good run to take the win in a new PB of 64:28. He was followed by James Hunt in 67:32.

In the women’s race, it was Carys Hughes that took the win in a big of 78:19 with Alaw Beynon-Thomas coming in at 82:09 to take the silver medal.

Bangor Half Marathon, Bangor – Oct 6

Up in North Wales, the annual Bangor Half Marathon also took place.

In the Men’s race, Eryri Runner, Brendan Rothery was the first Weshman home clocking in at a time of 79:22. He was followed by Llyr Apgeraint-Roberts of North Wales Road Runners in 82:24.

In the Women’s race, Rhi Willmot of Cybi Runners was the first Welsh Lady home in 99:27 followed by Helen Morgan of Eryri setting a new PB of 1:40.17.

North Wales Junior Cross Country League, Wrexham – Oct 5

Over the weekend, the Pyramid Consultancy North Wales Junior Cross Country League and the took place with Deeside dominating in the team wins, taking wins in 5 out of the 6 age group and gender categories. However Menai spoiled a full set by taking the win U15 boys catogory

North Wales Senior Cross Country League, Wrexham – Oct 5

On the same day, North Wales Cross Country League took place with Alex Lanz of Meirionnydd RC taking the win in the men’s race, fininshing ina time of 30:13. He was followed by Joseph Morrison of West Chesire AC in 30:15.

In the Women’s race, the first welsh lady home was Samia Jones from Menai T&F in 22:52. She was followed by Eryri runner Miranda Grant in 23:10.
