Six Welsh under 18 athletes (A good mixture from North, Mid, and South Wales) are all set to compete in the Home Countries Youth International at Ambleside, Cumbria on Saturday 24th July. The event was originally scheduled to host the WMRA International U18 Mountain Running Cup in 2020, postponed until 2021 but, due to the current Covid-19 travel restrictions, there will only be the Home Countries taking part in the re-named event is a very good stepping stone for young athletes in their development as they experience, for some, their first taste of international competition and a very good indicator of the standards that they will have to aspire to, to succeed at this level of competition in the future.
