Hollie Arnold set a new personal best of 44.73m, which was a Championship Record and Stadium Record, to take the Gold on Monday evening. This is her fourth consecutive World titile in the F46 Javelin and she now joins Aled Davies in the exclusive club of Para athletes with 4 consecutive World titles. She said,

“I’m so happy, this season has been so, so long, so I’m really happy to go out there and get a PB and a gold medal. I was so pumped and so ready, it didn’t feel amazing, but it did at the same time and that was really nice because there is so much more to come. I’m happy with today and I’ll take all of those positives.

Talking about her four consecutive World titles, she said:

“It’s amazing. I’ve effectively won four times in a row for my event and I’m so, so happy. It’s not just about me, it’s about my team around me. My coach Dave Turner has put so much work into this. He’s had to deal with the happy Hollie, the sad Hollie and the angry Hollie. Title number four is just as special as title number one.”

North Wales Sabrina Fortune followed Arnold with another Championship record and personal best of 13.91m in the F20 Shot Put to take gold and the World title. She said:

“I'm over the moon. There are no words to describe how amazing that moment was. I burst into tears straight after that final throw. And because I was last, it meant nobody could take it [the gold] off me. After two long long weeks of being here, I wanted to throw long. This is the best outcome I could ask for. This is one of the days I'll remember for the rest of my life.”

Olivia Breen competed in her second event of the Championships after her Bronze medal performance in the T38 Long Jump last week. In a stacked race, she finished just outside the  medals in 4^th clocking 13.22.

Jordan Howe (Christian Malcolm) gave a strong performance in the heats of the T35 100m to progress through to the final. In a tough field of sprinters, he finished in an admirable 6th place.
