This week we bring you two #FeatureFridays ~ North East Wales Club Manager Eva Brewer made a visit to see Abergele Harriers to catch up with the club since their return to training.

Not that they stopped during lockdown with an abundance of activity following Covid guidelines including competing in the Virtual London Marathon, North Wales Virtual relays and their very own club organised Virtual 5 mile race. With Press Secretary/Secretary John keeping the club membership updated with news via their newsletter and reflecting back on past performances in events and races.

It is also the personal touch that makes this club so special, with birthday shout-outs for their members.

As races have been opening back up, members have been returning to competitive action travelling to places such as Cheshire and Dartford where 'Supervet' Sean McComack had a fantastic run in the Dartford Midnight Marathon, in 3:08:40 for 5th overall.

The club meets 3 times a week on Pensarn Promenade for a variety of runs and caters to all abilities. One of their newest recruits is Ailsa who started running with the club 10 weeks ago.

"The club are great, they are very friendly and encouraging".

The club is very active in a variety of races and competitions as well as hosting their own popular race, this year they will hold the Abergele 5km road race on 14th November and it incorporates the North Wales 5km road running champs.

The club is always keen to welcome new members, for more information visit their website http://www.abergeleharriers.co.uk/ASH.htm
