British Squad Announced for the 2023 European Team Championships

The Great Britain and Northern Ireland squad for the European Team Championships has been announced today. Congratulations to Jeremiah Azu (Cardiff Athletics) and Sarah Omoregie (Cardiff Athletics) on their selections.
The first division match at the Championships, held in Silesia, Poland on the 23-25 June 2023, will see Great Britain and Northern Ireland go up against 15 other countries across the three days of competition.
UK Athletics has selected a full team with the aim of achieving the highest team placing possible at this Championships, whilst providing development opportunities for a number of athletes.
Technical Director at UK Athletics, Stephen Maguire shared:
“The European Team Championships are a great opportunity to provide athletes with Championship experience across all the events. We have 11 debutants in the team and they will learn a lot from competing at this level and being around this high-level competition environment.
“We also have several experienced Championship performers who have this event in their plan for the year, so it is an important milestone in their season. As for the relay athletes, this opportunity is invaluable to all team members. I look forward to seeing how the team perform in Silesia later this month.”
