2023 World Athletics Championships: Who & Where to Watch

On Saturday the 2023 World Athletics Championships will get underway in Budapest. The Championships will take place between the 19th – 27th of August.
Four Welsh athletes have been selected to represent Great Britain & Northern Ireland at the Championships.
Competing in the women’s marathon is Natasha Cockram (Micky Morris Racing Team), Cockram was the first athlete to be selected to represent GB & NI at the Championships back in March.
Melissa Courtney-Bryant (Poole AC) will be in action in the women’s 1500m. Courtney-Bryant has broken two Welsh records this year, running sub 4 minutes for the first time in her career at the Silesia Diamond League.
Jeremiah Azu (Cardiff Athletics) will line up in the men’s 4x100m relay, Azu broke the Welsh 100m record this year and swiftly extended his record at the European U23 Championships.
Finally, Joseph Brier (Swansea Harriers) will take to the track in the men’s 4x400m relay, Brier was part of Great Britain & Northern Ireland’s gold medal-winning relay team at last year’s European Championships.
