Virtual SportsHall Challenge

Welsh Athletics are pleased to announce that there will be a repeat of the virtual schools sportshall athletics pentathlon challenge this autumn term for pupils in school years 5 to 8. With some restrictions still in place for indoor sporting activity this is the ideal opportunity for your pupils to participate in an indoor athletics competition albeit virtually. Schools have the month of November to undertake the challenge and submit just one set of results using this spreadsheet no later than 5pm Wednesday 1st December 2021 to Andrew.jenkins@welshathletics.org . Please use separate spreadsheets for boys and girls in secondary schools and one spreadsheet for boys & girls combined in primary schools.

The guidance notes of how each event is organised can be downloaded here: ENGLISH | CYMRAEG - Please ensure you read these thoroughly before inputting any results data.

•             Each student will take part in Standing Long Jump, Speed Bounce, Shuttle Run, Vertical Jump and Chest Push within their bubbles on their own school site.

•             The spreadsheet will automatically generate a Virtual Competition score based on the Top 5 Boys and/or Top 5 Girls performances in each of the 5 events

Note that the date of the Welsh Schools cross country championships has changed to the earlier date of Saturday 12th February from Saturday 5th March. Pupils should check with their PE teacher the date and venue of their county trial qualification event which progresses to the Welsh Schools Championships.
