Financial Support Packages for local Track & Field Competition

Welsh Athletics are pleased to be able to announce a financial support package for clubs and competition providers to host local competition during the 2021 track & field season. Due to the ongoing impact of Coronavirus regulations in Wales, we are aiming to support small, local competitions and encourage clubs and organisers to try new, innovative competition formats (e.g. inter-club head-to-heads; local triangular meetings; local event-specific meetings).
Grant amounts will be considered individually, based on the application submitted by the competition provider.
We will consider grants to contribute to the following (this list is not exhaustive):
- Items to make your competition COVID-secure (e.g. screening devices, PPE)
- Contribution towards certain event costs where the current restrictions may incur additional expenditure beyond the competition provider/club’s usual budget
All prospective clubs and competition providers are invited to review the recently published competition framework and the current Return to Competition guidance to ensure that the date and format of their proposed competition are in line with current guidelines.
Additional documentation relating to your competition (e.g. risk assessments, and details of what you are planning to do to ensure that your event is COVID secure and compliant with the Welsh Athletics Return to Track & Field Competition Guidance) may be requested following the receipt of your application.
