(Virtual Classroom) Introduction to Mentoring: A Guide to Developing Volunteers.

The workshop will provide an interactive and supportive learning environment that gives attendees an opportunity to explore the purpose of mentoring and develop the practical skills for enhancing and managing their recruitment and development of people.

Learning outcomes for the workshop are;

  • Explore what effective mentoring is and how it works
  • Examine the importance of understanding people and how they learn
  • Develop practical mentoring skills and activities that will help you build relationships and rapport including; observation, active listening, body language and questioning techniques.
  •  Develop an understanding of the mentoring process and life cycle  

(This is two part workshop offer).

Aim: To help introduce/ develop knowledge, skills, and tools to underpin an effective mentoring relationship.

Workshop Aim:

So much of the delivery of our sport relies on recruitment and development of Volunteers. In order to support new volunteers to develop, and be successful in their respective roles, mentoring from an informal (or formal) point of view is vital to the sustainability of our sport. This two part workshop will help introduce/ develop knowledge, skills, and tools to become an effective official mentor.
