The U23 Champs in 2021 was a big moment for Jeremiah Azu as he came back from heartbreak 2 years before. Being crowned the100m champion was a massive stepping stone for the young athlete as he continued to speed up and grow in confidence as the summer turned into the indoor season.

And he made a statement, running 6.56 to go to the top of the British 2022 rankings and become the second fastest 60m runner Wales has ever had.

Now he has his eyes set on one particular race this summer... Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022.

"To rep Wales, it is not only for me, but it is for my family, friends and the country on my back and that would be a big honour”

The main goal for Jeremiah is to make the 100m final, and as he rightly points out, once you are there… anything can happen!

And with it being a Home Games, Jeremiah is making a bold statement, acknowledging that the games is going to be 10 x bigger - and we have to agree with him!

Jeremiah is currently out in Florida, indulging in the warm weather and preparing for a big summer! We are sure he has eyes on all three major champs but we are looking forward to him sporting the red of Wales as he takes to the track in Birmingham this summer!

We caught up with Jeremiah out in Florida, thanks to fellow sprinter Mica Moore for capturing the golden content!
